Moon manifesting is the lunar way to organise life

Whether we blame the uncertainty of Brexit, the threat of climate change, or simply the fact that we’re all desperate to find the answers to all our problems, it’s no wonder so many of us are asking the universe for help. London is now a city of astrology obsessives.

Tried tarot, spent a fortune on crystals and got lost in numerology? Moonology, a term author and astrologer Yasmin Boland uses in her bestseller to describe the study of the moon, might well be next on your list.

Based on the theory that it’s not just the tides of the sea the moon affects but your emotions too, moonology is where we’re looking for our answers.

Boland says that by tapping into the lunar cycle you can learn how to time life events, such as when to send an important email or when to get married. “Once you start to think about which phase and sign the moon is in, you’ll find life starts to click into place, because you’re living in alignment with nature and the planet.”

Apparently, it’s all about “moon manifesting”. To get started, you have to understand the cycles. According to Boland, the moon goes through eight phases, but the simplest  way to incorporate moonology into your life is to focus on two: the new moon and the full moon.

During a new moon, you should set your intentions. “Even if  you don’t believe in astrology, setting goals  once a month is very  good practice,” Boland  says. “If it’s to start a new job,  once you make that promise to yourself you have to back it  up by taking action.”

Next, on each full moon think about forgiveness. “Let go of any toxicity and negativity. If you start to forgive the people annoying you the most, it clears your energy field and you’re going to have a much more harmonious life.”

Budding moonologers should also be aware of exactly which of the 12 zodiac signs the moon is in, and this is where it all gets a bit complicated. Each new moon takes on a “flavour” of the zodiac sign it falls in, Boland says, which you can then use to guide your wishes for that moon. “For example, we just had the new moon in Libra, which means the coming four weeks are a good time to focus on relationships, being kinder and negotiating whatever you want for yourself”.

Moonology is a form of self-care. Time to switch off from your phone and tune into the planet. Worth a try, right?
