Montenegro vs England LIVE: Stream, score and latest updates as hosts lead Euro 2020 qualifier

England continue their Euro 2020 qualification campaign looking to make it two wins from two as Gareth Southgate’s side take on Montenegro.

Fresh from the resounding 5-0 victory on Friday night over the Czech Republic, England can reinforce their place at the top of Group A with another victory at the Podgorica City Stadium. But Southgate is poised to make changes to his side in the hope of a first ever victory in Montengero.

With Eric Dier ruled out through the injury that he suffered against the Czech Republic, Southgate hands West Ham midfielder Declan Rice win his full debut, while Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi makes his first start too. But all eyes will be on Raheem Sterling after his brilliant display at Wembley as the Man City star looks to fire England towards qualification at the earliest opportunity. Follow it live:

Nothing will wind up England fans more…

HALF TIME

HALF-TIME: Montenegro 1-2 England

Very entertaining half of football.

Montenegro took a shock lead through an excellent curling finish by Marko Vesovic, but England responded with Michael Keane’s downward header.

Ross Barkley scored England’s second after excellent work by teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the visitors are a goal up at the break in Podgorica.

MATCH ACTION

45 minutes: Montenegro 1-2 England

It’s a wasteful corner. Overhit, and England clear their lines.

45 minutes: Montenegro 1-2 England

One minute of added time, and Montenegro have their first corner of the match…

43 minutes: Montenegro 1-2 England

Looking again at that second England goal, it really is fantastic play from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Pace. Panache. Power. This lad has it all…

MATCH ACTION

42 minutes: Montenegro 1-2 England

Much like England when they were behind, Montenegro have responded well to going a goal down.

Adam Marusic is almost in behind, but the ball is slightly overhit and allows Pickford to collect.

GOAL!

GOAL! Montenegro 1-2 England (Barkley 38′)

England take the lead!

Ross Barkley is the goalscorer, but this one is all about Callum Hudson-Odoi!

The 18-year-old cuts in from the right, sells two defenders, and then shoots goalwards. It looks like it’s heading in, but Barkley makes sure, diverting the ball home from close range.

Normal order resumed.

MATCH ACTION

35 minutes: Montenegro 1-1 England

It’s suddenly turned into a very good game this.

Rose skips past Stojkovic, but Raheem Sterling is unselfish at the back post and instead of shooting tries to find Alli, but the opportunity is snuffed out… Sterling should’ve struck it first-time really.

On the counter-attack, the dangerous Vesovic has options in the box, but goes alone and his shot is blocked by Keane.

MATCH ACTION

33 minutes: Montenegro 1-1 England

Hell of a strike this from Stefan Mugosa.

The Montenegro striker turns 30 yards out, and strikes it cleanly with his left-foot on target. Jordan Pickford, who has done nothing other than pick the ball out from the back of the net, has to be alert and holds on to a powerful effort.

GOAL!

GOAL! Montenegro 1-1 England (Keane 30′)

England are level, and shock it’s from a set-piece!

It’s a first international goal for Michael Keane, as the Everton defender rises to clinically head home at the back post from an excellent Ross Barkley free-kick from the right.

England behind for just 12 minutes. And breathe…

MATCH ACTION

29 minutes: Montenegro 1-0 England

England are back dominating the ball, but Montenegro are sitting very, very deep.

Hudson-Odoi’s cross is cleared by Savic, but Kyle Walker wins a free-kick in a promising position out wide.

MATCH ACTION

27 minutes: Montenegro 1-0 England

Kyle Walker is caught out in behind, but Danny Rose comes across to clear goalscorer Vesovic’s cross.

England need to be careful here. A setback could turn into a crisis if they’re not careful.

MATCH ACTION

25 minutes: Montenegro 1-0 England

Hhhmmm this may be trickier than many of us expected tonight.

After not being able to string a pass together early on, Montenegro have grown into the game now.

Declan Rice fouls Nikola Vukcevic with a counter-attack looming.

Goalscorer Vesovic celebrating his goal…

MATCH ACTION

20 minutes: Montenegro 1-0 England

England have responded well to going a goal down, with Hudson-Odoi looking a real threat on the right and a threatening cross from the 18-year-old almost finds Harry Kane at the back post.

Different test for England now, as Montenegro have a lead to protect. Interesting…

GOAL!

GOAL! Montenegro 1-0 England (Vesovic 17′)

Wow. This wasn’t in the script.

It’s literally Montenegro’s first attack! Goalscorer Marko Vesovic gets some luck, as he dribbles towards the penalty area. The ball deflects back off Michael Keane, but there’s no luck with the finish as the midfielder curls the ball brilliantly into the far corner – no chance for Jordan Pickford.

England will have to come from behind.

Prediction

Montenegro 0-3 England

The Czech Republic, on paper, are England’s toughest opposition in Group A, but the way that Southgate’s side swatted them away last week shows how much confidence is running through this current crop of players. The journey to Montenegro should mean that England don’t have it all their own way, but there is enough talent in the squad to emerge unscathed and keep another clean sheet in the process.
