Monsta X has postponed an upcoming fan signing following band member Wonho’s departure from the band.

Starship Entertainment confirmed the postponement and said in a statement: ‘We announce that the fan sign event for the release of MONSTA X’s mini album FOLLOW: FIND YOU, which was scheduled for October 31, has been postponed.

‘We will announce the new date as soon as it is decided on. We deeply apologise to the fans who have been waiting.’

The 26-year-old has left Monsta X following allegations that he owes friend Jung Da Eun 30 million won (£20,000).

The star apologised to fans for ‘causing them pain’ and in a handwritten letter thanked them for ‘precious memories’.

‘First, I would like to apologise for not being able to keep the promise that I would only provide good memories and for causing pain to fans,’ he shared.

‘Furthermore, I apologise for causing concern to many people due to my personal issues.

‘I have received undeserving blessings and love while promoting as a MONSTA X member. I sincerely thank you for making precious memories for me. To the members who worked hard with me and stayed with me, I would like to tell them that I’m thankful and that I love them. [I would also like to show them] my apologetic heart.’

He added: ‘There was a time when I was immature and have made big and small mistakes, but after becoming a trainee and making my debut, I stayed on track and worked hard to avoid being ashamed of myself.’

Starship Entertainment confirmed that Monsta X would be continuing as a six-piece band with members Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney and IM.

Wonho’s departure comes amidst a rumour that he owes his Ulzzang Shidae co-star Jung Da Eun 30 million won – an allegation Starship has called false.

On 29 October, Jung Da Eun shared an Instagram post of Wonho on TV and captioned it: ‘Ho Seok, when are you going to pay me back?’

Han Seo Hee commented on the post: ‘Give Da Eun her 30 million won.’

Starship denied the allegation, saying: ‘It is not true, and we are looking into the possibility of taking legal action.’
