Tesla’s Cybertruck may have received mixed reviews at its unveiling in November, but there is one person who is a huge fan – the firm’s CEO Elon Musk.

An Instagram users shared a clip of the billionaire taking the all-electric vehicle around the streets of Hawthorn, California on Sunday. 

Musk spotted the camera and gave it a wave from the passenger seat before his driver passed-by. 

The short clip also paints a clearer picture of just how large the Cybertruck actually is, as it was towering over the car with the driver who was shooting the video.

The California company unveiled the Cybertruck in November 2019, but it fell flat among many users who said it look more like a child’s toy or a piece of junk rather than a futuristic automobile.

But this isn’t stopping Musk from showing off his personal Cybertruck on the streets.

In December, the CEO was spotted driving it in Malibu December of last year.

The Tesla founder rolled up to celebrity hotspot Nobu in his garishly-futuristic electric truck with girlfriend Grimes and several other pals in tow.

Valets left the Cybertruck parked in front of the restaurant, allowing passers-by to snag shots of it throughout the night.

After dinner, Musk emerged from the restaurant with actor Ed Norton, who appeared excited to check out the billionaire’s whip.

Musk debuted Tesla’s Cybertruck at a live event from the SpaceX headquarters in November, but the unveiling did not exactly go to plan.

The eccentric CEO was left embarrassed when Tesla design chief Franz von Holshausen tried to prove the glass was ‘shatterproof’ by throwing a heavy metal ball at close range – smashing the driver’s-side window.

Musk was heard muttering ‘oh my f***ing God’ when the glass shattered.

He insisted that the glass had undergone rigorous testing, and later said that it had failed after having been hit with a sledgehammer the day before the launch.

The industrial-looking Cybertruck is covered in the same steel alloy Musk plans to use for his SpaceX Starship rocket.

It will be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about three seconds, the Tesla chief executive claimed in his presentation.

Musk said the entry-level model will have a starting price of $39,900 and a 250-mile range, while a deluxe option will be able to travel twice the distance and will sell for $69,900.  

Although the reveal was a disaster for Tesla, it received an overwhelming number of pre-orders – more than 200,000.
