You’ve fed them, changed their nappy, soothed them and rocked them – but they’re still screaming.

Hours and hours are usually spent desperately trying to get children to sleep – or at least stop crying – but one dad may have found the answer.
It turns out babies hate the sound of their own screaming almost as much as adults do, so to get them to stop all you have to do is play them a recording of the shrill sound.
One dad, Loni Carter, had seen other parents imitate their baby’s cry to get them to stop, but he decided to use the real thing.
The 26-year-old from, St Louis, Missouri, recorded his son, Demoni, screaming on his phone.

In a bid to get him to stop, Loni played the six-week-old’s cries back to him.
He shared a clip of his parenting hack, showing Demoni quieten down as he listens to the sounds of his own cries.
As Loni plays him the recording, he says: “That’s you.

“That’s how you sound.”
After just a few minutes the newborn seems to have calmed down, and is sitting in silence.
His dad asks him: “We good?”
So the next time your child has a screaming fit, it’s time to grab your phone and hit record.
