Mollie King announced her engagement to cricketer Stuart Broad via social media yesterday following a New Year’s Day marriage proposal. The 33-year-old radio presenter was inundated with messages of congratulations from friends and followers on Instagram as well as an amusing demand from her co-star.
“A thousand times yes!” Mollie wrote on the picture-sharing site followed by a ring emoji, as she shared her exciting news with her 913,000 followers.
“I still can’t believe it, the most magical start to the new year!” she went on to add, alongside a photo of the couple.
“I can’t wait to spend all my years with you @stuartbroad,“ the former pop star gushed.
The Saturday’s star flashed her beautiful engagement ring in a sweet picture of the pair which accompanied her post.
Mollie’s Radio 1 co-host Matt Edmondson was one of the first to share his congratulations with the couple.
“YAAAAAAAAAS! I CAN’T WAIT to deliver a speech at your wedding,” the married DJ excitedly exclaimed.
“This is non-negotiable,” he jokingly added.
Sending so much love to you both!“ the 35-year-old signed off.
“How to get yourself uninvited to a wedding,” one follower amusingly added next to his comment.
In addition to the stars of the show, a host of Strictly pros including Kevin Clifton, Oti Mabuse and Amy Dowden took to the comments section to send well wishes.
Countryfile presenters Matt Baker and Helen Skelton also sent their congratulations as did Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.
In her social media snap, Mollie could be seen kissing her fiancé Stuart during a romantic winter walk.
The singer’s sparkly ring was on full display, as she tenderly placed her left hand on her partner’s face.
