Liverpool may have more injury concerns following the 2-0 win over Midtjylland on Tuesday night after Mohamed Salah was spotted limping back to the dressing room at full time. Liverpool made it two wins from two in the Champions League with another hard-fought victory at Anfield.
Midtjylland were cast aside by Atalanta in their opening group match but they proved a more defensively sound unit against Liverpool.
Klopp opted to make some big changes with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah all dropping to the bench.
And Liverpool’s altered front line struggled to break down Midtjylland’s defence.
The first half was overshadowed by another injury blow to Klopp when Fabinho was forced off with an apparent hamstring issue.
That failed to deter Liverpool in the second half and they eventually got the breakthrough 10 minutes after the break.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was at the centre of an exquisite move before teeing up Diogo Jota for the game’s opener.
Midtjylland didn’t give up though and came within inches of an equaliser moments before the end.
And they were made to pay minutes later though when Alexander-Arnold once again turned provider after playing Salah through on goal.
