Rumours of a Manchester United exit for the midfielder have been fueled by both the player and his suitors, who have talked up a possible transfer.

Raiola has already held talks with the Spanish side about a move being made, and now Spanish publication Marca is reporting that he is due in Manchester ‘shortly’ for talks on this side of the deal.

United tried to extend Pogba’s contract in January, but the Frenchman was not interested, however, discussions could recommence when Raiola arrives in Manchester.

Pogba talked up the possibility of a switch to the Santiaho Bernabeu, saying earlier this month: ‘At the moment I’m happy in Manchester. I play. There’s a new coach.

‘Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said it is a dream club for every player.’

Real boss Zinedine Zidane also made it clear what he thinks of the World Cup winner.

‘I like Pogba a lot and it’s not new,’ Zidane said. ‘I know him personally, he is different, he contributes that few can do, for his qualities.

‘He knows how to attack and defend. But he is not my player and he is a player who is in United and you have to respect him.

‘He has always said that after Manchester if something comes out he has always liked Madrid. But especially Madrid, more than Zidane.’

Real Madrid are expected to go on an enormous spending spree this summer, and have been linked to a host of world class talents, including Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen.
