Mino Raiola delivers Matthijs de Ligt transfer update as Juventus beat Man Utd to deal

United have been tracking De Ligt all summer and the Dutchman remains the most sought-after defender in Europe.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a stunning season with Ajax as he captained them to the domestic double and the Champions League semi-final.

Barcelona were also understood to be interested but it appears Juventus have won the race to sign the coveted teenager.

“Matthijs has agreed personal terms with Juve,” Raiola told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.

“We’re waiting for them to complete the agreement with Ajax soon.

“An arbitration case is out of the question for us, I advised Matthijs [on this], because it does not suit his style.

“The player only hopes that Juventus and Ajax will show the will to get out and that the deal is completed quickly.”

A fee now needs to be agreed between the two clubs and the centre-back could cost the Italian giants more than £60million.

Raiola’s comments are the second piece of bad news he has delivered to Manchester United in a matter of days.

The super agent also represents Paul Pogba and he revealed he is working on a move for the Frenchman to leave Old Trafford.

Pogba is also on Juventus’ radar but Real Madrid remain keen to take him to Spain.

The World Cup winner recently flew out to Australia with the rest of his United team-mates for their pre-season tour.

However, he is not expected to be there for long after Raiola said he is doing all he can to get him out of the club.

“Everyone within the club from the manager to the owner knows Paul’s wishes,” Raiola told The Times.

“Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on.

“We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are.”
