He’s the star of the Netflix series Mindhunter and provides the voice for Olaf in Disney’s Frozen movies.

And now Jonathan Groff is joining the highly-anticipated revival of The Matrix franchise.

Collider reported Monday that the actor, 34, has signed on for The Matrix 4 which sees the return of Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity.

Groff made a name for himself on Broadway starring in the original production of Spring Awakening in 2006 and as King George III in the original Broadway production of Hamilton in 2015.

He’s also famous for his recurring role as Jesse St. James in TV’s Glee.

The fourth Matrix movie was announced by Warner Bros. in August and will be directed by Lana Wachowski.

The Matrix was an instant hit when it bowed in 1999.

The sci-fi actioner spawned two sequels The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolutions, both released in 2003.

The three movies, written, directed and produced by Lana and sister Lilly, took in more than $1.6 billion at the global box office.

Also returning for The Matrix 4 is Jada Pinkett Smith who played Niobe in the sequels.   

It’s previously been reported that Neil Patrick Harris has signed on as well as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who is believed to be portraying a younger version of Morpheus, played in the original films by Laurence Fishburne. 

The Matrix 4 is expected to be released in 2022.
