Congratulations are in order for Milla Jovovich, who has given birth to her third child.

The actress, 44, welcomed another daughter with her husband Paul W.S. Anderson on Sunday (2 February) – making them the proud parents of three girls, as they are already mum and dad to Ever, 12, and Dashiel, four.

Us Weekly confirmed the new arrival and it sounds like Milla’s newborn daughter was practically right on time.

Just a day before news surfaced revealing she has given birth, the Resident Evil star revealed on Instagram that her due date had finally come around and she was preparing to head into hospital.

Milla said: ‘Due date is tomorrow so getting ready to go to the hospital at anytime now!! It’s funny because I thought having our 3rd would be a piece of cake, but I’m actually really nervous, now that I know what to expect!

‘Anyway, hopefully the next post I make will be a picture of our newest little girlie girl! Wish me luck everyone!!’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Milla’s rep.

She first announced she was pregnant again in August last year and admitted she had ‘mixed feelings’ about the news because of her age, and because of the fact she went through a ‘horrific’ abortion two years ago.

‘Knocked up again,’ she revealed to fans. ‘After I found out I was pregnant 13 weeks ago, I had a mixture of feelings ranging between complete joy and utter terror.’

Milla continued: ‘Because of my age and losing the last pregnancy, I didn’t want to get attached to this potential baby too quickly.

‘That was obviously not fun and the last few months have been my family and I living on pins and needles, waiting for a slew of different test results to come in and spending most of our time in doctors offices.

‘Thank goodness we’re in the clear AND we found out that we’ve been blessed with another girl!’

Milla was four-and-a-half months pregnant when she was forced to have an emergency abortion. She was shooting on location in Eastern Europe and admits she still has ‘nightmares’ over the procedure.

She lifted the lid on her ordeal while commenting on social media about a new bill that passed in Georgia in 2019, that outlaws abortions after six weeks.

‘I myself went through an emergency abortion 2 years ago. I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and shooting on location in Eastern Europe,’ she revealed.

‘I went into pre term labor and was told that I had to be awake for the whole procedure.

‘It was one of the most horrific experiences I have ever gone through. I still have nightmares about it. I was alone and helpless.

‘When I think about the fact that women might have to face abortions in even worse conditions than I did because of new laws, my stomach turns.’

Milla said that the experience saw her spiral into ‘one of the worst depressions of her life’ and she had to work extremely hard to pull herself out of it.

But, even though she did it, she insisted: ‘The memory of what I went through and what I lost will be with me [until] the day I die.’
