Miley Cyrus jokes she’s not invited to awards shows any more after lighting up a joint on stage

Miley Cyrus isn’t expecting to be invited back to any awards shows any time soon, as she joked that her previous bad behaviour has got her banned.

The Slide Away singer, 27, shared a throwback video of her on stage at the 2013 MTV EMA awards, captioned: ‘& we wonder why I’m not invited to award shows anymore ….’

The video, taken during her acceptance speech for the award for best video for her track Wrecking Ball shows Miley rooting around in her purse, before pulling out what appears to be a joint and lighting it on stage.

She thanked her fans for voting for her to win the award and told viewers: ‘You know, I couldn’t fit this award in my bag but I did find this.’

Miley pulled a joint out of her Chanel handbag and put it in her mouth to light it, adding: ‘So thank you guys very much. Good night everybody, thank you. EMAs thank you for having me, love you all so much.’

If you cast your minds back almost seven years, the 2013 MTV EMAs was the ceremony Miley also twerked at, as she performed her single We Can’t Stop.

It wasn’t just the 2013 EMAs that Miley hit headlines for, however – she also famously had an on-stage bust up with Nicki Minaj at the MTV VMAs in 2015.

After Nicki received the best hip-hop video award, she called Miley – who was hosting the show – out on stage, saying: ‘Back to this b***h that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?’

Miley responded: ‘Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate s**t. Nicki, congratu-f**king-lations.’

She might not be invited to many awards ceremonies any more, but you know it’s never going to be a boring night if Miley is there…
