The 26-year-old singer had split with Liam earlier this month after less than a year of marriage, and the Hunger Games star pushed forward with proceedings to legally end their marriage on Wednesday when he filed divorce papers in court in Los Angeles.
In the meantime, Miley’s tattoo artist Dr. Woo shared a peek at her new arm tattoo – the biscione – the emblem of the House of Visconti and the symbol of the city of Milan.

The tattoo is a snake in the act of consuming a child; the biscione is also known as the vipera.
The biscione has been the emblem of the House of Visconti for centuries and is the symbol of Milan, according to The Art Post Blog.
The website says that Ottone Visconti led an army of Milanese citizene during the siege of Jerusalem and challenged Saracen Voluce to a duel according to legend.
Saracen’s coat of arms was a snake eating a man; after he killed him, Ottone adopted the coat of arms as his own – changing it a child not a man being eaten by the serpent.

According to People, it has been claimed Miley is upset with the 29-year-old actor’s decision, as although she’s ‘doing well’, it’s ‘hard’ for her to accept her relationship is over.

A source told People magazine: ‘She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well.
‘What she and Liam had for a long time was very special. It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.’
He cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce filing; they signed a prenup so their individual earnings during their marriage will remain separate and there is no request for spousal support.
A source told TMZ he just wants to move on and is ‘over the marriage.’
Liam is being represented by celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser who did not state a date of separation on the petition, simply putting ‘TBD’.

The split was confirmed the day after Miley was spotted locking lips with Kaitlynn on a yacht in Lake Como, Italy.
The split turned ugly last week with accusations of drug use and infidelity flying from both sides; it was initially an amicable split.
Days after news of the split made headlines sources close to Miley told TMZ the songstress tried ‘valiantly’ to save the marriage but couldn’t accept Liam’s ‘drinking a lot’ and ‘using certain drugs.’
Miley released a song last week titled Slide Away where she appears to address relationship issues with Liam and sings of his fondness of whisky and pills.
Sources on Liam’s side strongly denied Miley’s accusations and say the real issue was the former Disney star’s infidelity.
‘This is another attempt by Miley to distract from her infidelity and recent outrageous public behavior.’ the Liam source told TMZ.
The actor’s pals say the Wrecking Ball singer is using the drug and alcohol accusations to distract from the real cause of the split.
Miley and Liam tied the knot in December 2018 after dating on and off for 10 years.
