Miley Cyrus adopts abandoned bulldog and names it after Kate Moss, because why not

Miley Cyrus has adopted an abandoned bulldog who turned up on the doorstep of a fire station in California.

The Mother’s Daughter singer, 27, decided to give the dog a forever home after the abandoned pup showed up on the doorstep of the North Central Fire Protection District Station.

Jacob McAfee, the deputy fire chief, told CNN: ‘The crews said she was covered in fleas and smelled really bad. You could tell she had been out wandering for quite a while. It was obvious that she was abandoned or a stray.’

A relative of one of the firefighters fostered the dog for a few months before it was brought to The Wagmor Hotel and Pet Spa in Los Angeles, but the dog’s skin, eye, and hip issues meant nobody wanted to adopt her.

Until Miley came along, that is.

The animal-loving singer has adopted from the rescue in the past, and was moved by a photo she saw of the dog on Instagram.

Miley dropped the adoption agency’s owner, Melissa Bacelar, a text asking to meet the dog on the set of her Midnight Sun music video to see how they got along.

Initially asking to keep the dog for a weekend, which then turned into a week and then a month, Miley soon announced that she would be making the adoption a permanent thing.

In typical Miley fashion, she texted Wagmor’s owner to say: ‘This dog doesn’t leave my side. I don’t know how I would ever not have her.

‘BTW … the dog’s new name is Kate Moss.’

Melissa joked: ‘Literally this dog went from living on a mat in front of a fire station in Fresno to living on Louis Vuitton sheets with Miley. [She’s] loving life and getting the royal treatment.’

We’re sure Kate Moss will fit in nicely with Miley’s other pets – and we do love a story with a happy ending.
