Mike Ashley has agreed to sell Newcastle United for £350 million to the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, according to reports.

Ashley officially put Newcastle up for sale in October 2017 but has failed to find a buyer.

But The Sun now claims that Ashley has struck a deal with Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The report also claims that contracts have also been submitted to the Premier League.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan has previously attempted to buy Liverpool last August but failed with a £2 billion offer.

Newcastle finished 13th in the Premier League this season but have yet to agree a new deal to keep manager Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard’s contract is due to expire this summer but he has been in talks with the club about extending his stay at St James’ Park.
