Michelle Visage just found out that her inflamed thyroid caused by Hashimoto’s disease is benign and we’re all excited for her.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race judge had been suffering from the disease – which is a condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid – for over 20 years and finally received the good news from doctors this morning.

She shared an image of the message on Instagram along with the caption: ‘I’m sharing this with you because we have to be our own health advocates. Those that know me and listen to the podcast, know my struggles with Hashimoto’s for the past 20 years. It’s had been 16 years since I had a biopsy because no one told me I needed to get another.’

As the thyroid produces hormones that coordinate many of your body’s functions, leaving the disease unchecked can result in heart problems, birth defects, and other life-threatening conditions.

‘Over the last 2 years my body was so inflamed from my breast implant illness that my thyroid nodule doubled in size. It was time for another biopsy. I had it on Monday. Finally. I woke up today to this message. I am lucky, yes, but I’ll never wait that long again. Implants out, thyroid benign, on to dancing and healing! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! SELF LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE,’ Visage continued.

The 50-year-old television host is one of this year’s contestants for Strictly Come Dancing and she can finally move on to learning some new moves that will impress us all.

Michelle also had her breast implants removed due to breast implant illness, which is an unofficial diagnosis that includes hair loss, brain fog and general fatigue.

Although Michelle’s doctors never confirmed whether there was a connection between her Hashimoto’s symptoms and her implants, she chose to have explant surgery earlier this year just to be safe.

She told PEOPLE: ‘If you think about it, your immune system fights off invaders, and the biggest invaders in my body are two giant blobs of silicone.’

It’s refreshing to see Michelle is still as straightforward as ever and we can’t wait to see her on the Strictly dance floor even if she missed the launch.
