Michelle Keegan left 'terrified' in Our Girl car stunt mishap


Michelle Keegan has revealed she was involved in a frightening stunt gone wrong while on the set of her smash BBC drama Our Girl.

The 32-year-old actress has played Lance Corporal Georgie Lane on the BBC One show since 2016 and is set to appear in the six-part fourth season which starts airing later this month .

In a scene set to air as part of the actresses last few episodes on the show, Michelle took part in a stunt where she was suspended upside down in a flipped Jeep.

Michelle grew panicked when she couldn’t unclip herself from her seatbelt – and was left panicked and distraught until 36-year-old co-star Rolan Bell came to her rescue.

Explaining the ordeal to The Sun on Sunday, Michelle said: “[Rolan] helped but it was terrifying.”

Fans of Our Girl will see Michelle bow out of the series after playing Georgie over three seasons and 23 episodes.

Michelle took over the main role of the show from EastEnders star Lacie Turner – who played Private Molly Dawes in the first series of the show.

Michelle hopes that the tradition of casting soap stars in the lead role will continue after she is gone, adding to The Sun that she hopes the series will continue to cast “strong women” in the lead.

Earlier this week, Michelle announced that fans won’t have long to wait to see her return to the BBC drama.

“ATTENTION! Georgie Lane is back and reporting for duty on Tuesday 24th March at 9pm,” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

Michelle posted the announcement alongside a still from the TV show in which her character Georgie is in full military uniform and pulls a salut.

A number of celebrity fans including Georgia Kousoulou and Jess Wright shared their excitement at the announcement, which has since received 81,600 Instagram likes.

Although Michelle is returning for season four of the drama, the actress has already announced that she will be leaving the set for good at the end of the upcoming six part series.
