Sir Michael Parkinson, 84, was set to be on stage at the Whitehall Theatre on Saturday on the latest show of his An Evening With Sir Michael Parkinson tour.
But, the broadcaster has had to pull out of his gig, due to illness, and the event will not be going as planned.
Local promotion firm Events 105, who arranged the show, posted a statement on their Facebook page.
They said Sir Michael wishes to “apologise” for the “inconvenience” caused.
It read: “It’s with deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of this Saturday’s show with Sir Michael Parkinson that was due to take place at The Whitehall Theatre Dundee.
“The reason for this is due to illness.”
They continued: “More information will follow on Events 105 social media pages regarding possible rescheduling or refunds very shortly. We will contact all ticket holders with regards to options.
“Events 105 & Sir Michael Parkinson wish to apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused as well as the disappointment such a late call-off will bring.”
They concluded: “Sir Michael very much hopes to see you all in the near future. We are wishing him a speedy recovery.”
Fans commented to wish Sir Michael well with one writing: “Sorry to hear this. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery and we can look forward to seeing him in the future.”
“Hopefully he gets well soon and we can see him when it’s reschedule,” said another.
Meanwhile, Sir Michael will be appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on ITV Saturday.
The legendary presenter reportedly addresses his claim Sir Billy Connolly has a “dulled brain” on the show, which upset the comedian’s wife, Pamela Stephenson, 69, at the time.
According to the MailOnline, during his appearance on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Sir Michael said: “I don’t think it was much Billy so much as Pamela [who was upset]. I would never deliberately hurt Billy at all.
“When I was making the observation I was making, that he’d slowed down for a bit, it was not a diagnosis,” Michael continued. “It was the observation of a friend to another friend.”
He went on to say he got in touch with Sir Billy after making the comments on Saturday Kitchen last August.
“Billy and I have known each other for years, so I wrote him a letter,” he told host Piers.
“I sat down and wrote him a letter and said, ‘There is no way in this world I would hurt you or deliberately demean you.’
“And I got a lovely reply saying, ‘Let’s go back to how we were, old friends.’”
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories airs Saturday on ITV at 10pm.
