Michael Gove will chair the first daily meeting of the new no-deal Cabinet committee today as preparations to leave the EU without a deal get serious.
He will gather senior ministers in the Cabinet Office briefing room usually reserved for emergency COBRA talks.
While new PM Boris Johnson will attempt to sway Brussels into abandoning the backstop, if they fail to make concessions then a no deal Brexit is extremely likely.
Senior ministers will join Mr Gove as Britain ramps up to leave the EU on October 31.
