The partnership officially commenced on May 27th with the Method Mayhem tournament. The StarCraft II competition raised funds for Rise Above the Disorder, which provides a universal mental healthcare system for youth worldwide. RAD has covered mental health care expenses for more than 35,000 people across 132 countries in the past three years.

A similar partnership between Softgiving and Misfits Gaming Group was announced in April, starting with an online streaming event to raise funds for the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, which is currently assisting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matt Pfaltzgraf, CEO of Softgiving, shared his thoughts on the deal, stating: “It’s always amazing to create new partnerships with tremendous and influential colleagues in the esports industry. We are proud to be among those who are helping to bring innovative fundraising efforts into reality. Method is a pioneering organization with a breadth of content creation, so we are excited to bring this new partnership to life, and to collaborate on the development of win-win charity stream sponsorship opportunities for consumer brands.”

Softgiving’s platform will help Method to maximise revenue generated for charities with its live stream integrations. The company will also be responsible for creating donation pages which the community can also use to track the total amount raised.

Christian Bishop, Chief Revenue Officer at Method, also commented on the partnership: “We are inspired and honored by the gaming and esports communities’ ability to rally around charitable causes industry-wide. Because of this, Method is committing $100,000 [£80,227.73] to charity over the next 12 months, and partnering with Softgiving to better integrate our charity efforts into our innovative live-streamed events and engaging influencers.

“We are reaching out to business partners to also join us in raising money for worthy causes with Method’s dedicated community through content opportunities. Together, with Softgiving, we wish to make a strong impact on the worthy causes of today.”

Esports Insider says: We’ve seen a number of esports teams put in a lot of work to contribute towards charities and social causes in recent months, and every project is a welcome sight. Method’s $100,000 (£80,227.73) charity commitment is a real and laudable statement of intent.
