META High School Esports is an esports tournament organiser for high schools and secondary colleges all around Australia and New Zealand. Harvey Norman has become the third of META’s major partners alongside Torrens University and Optus, the latter of which joined at the end of last June.

The deal will see Harvey Norman branding made visible across META High School Esports’ website, portal, and tournament platform. During the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the tournament organiser is continuing to allow students access to weekly, inter-school competition through its online platforms.

Woody Wu, Commissioner of META High School Esports, noted the qualities that made Harvey Norman an ideal partner for the company: “Harvey Norman share our passion in supporting young people to reach their full potential. Not only do they have an incredible selection of gaming equipment, but also a range of quality educational resources, including STEM-focused computer programs and electronic activity sets.

META High School Esports’ new season will begin on the 5th of May, with registration closing on Aril 29th.

Esports Insider says: This looks like a smart move. With cancellations of sports across the board, a partnership with high school esports competitions will ensure that the Harvey Norman brand can enjoy continued exposure to family households across Australia and New Zealand during this time of crisis.
