Meet Meow Meow, the cat picking up the ‘grouchy-looking animal’ torch from the late and great Grumpy Cat – although Meow Meow might actually look even more furious than Tardar Sauce.
Meow Meow is a kitty from Taiwan who looks especially grumpy.
Her owner is Clare, who told Bored Panda that the cat pairs her moody expression with elegance and class. Which makes her an icon, we say.
‘I met her at an old pet shop,’ said Clare. ‘Her ex-owner abandoned her for some unknown reason. She was 10 months old at that time, so me and my younger brother took her to our house and she became my first cat.’
Clare says that despite looking angry, Meow Meow is super sweet – and wants to be a princess but is ‘more like a queen’.
Again, an icon.
‘She massages me using her paws to wake me up every single day,’ says Clare.
Meow Meow already has nearly 5,000 followers, who flock to see photos of the kitty’s expressions.
The cat’s Instagram has been flooded with comments calling her the new Grumpy Cat and saying how adorable she is.
It’s only a matter of time before this cat’s face becomes a meme.
Besides getting Instagram famous, Meow Meow also enjoys watching the birds through the window, nibbling at Clare until she gets breakfast, and snuggling up on the sofa.
She also often has to go to the vet’s as she has hyperthyroidism, which can cause weight loss and excess hunger.
