Melissa Suffield has hit out at people who use the phrase ‘bounce back’ when referring to women who have recently given birth.
The former EastEnders star, 28, took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself in lilac lingerie to showcase her body.
The actress then shared a screenshot of a Tweet by Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan who said Leigh-Anne Pinnock had ‘bounced back’ after recently giving birth to twins.

Keisha recently attended Leigh-Anne’s 30th birthday party where she posed for a snap with the Little Mix star.
Alongside the photo, she wrote: ‘Epic bday party last night for this gem. Leigh-Anne’s bounce back after twins is insane! Like how?!! Just call us Suga-Mix’.
Melissa said the idea of bouncing back is ‘b******t’ and said people should not place Leigh-Anne’s worth ‘on her f*****g appearance’.
She wrote: ‘There it is again. That bounce back B******t (swipe). Firstly, bouncing back is a myth.

‘A body may seem ‘”back” on the outside but the inside tells a different story. A wound the size of a dinner plate where your placenta once was, slowly healing.
‘A pelvic floor that needs a bit of a retrain. Any tears or scars healing. Ab separation. Not to mention the hormones, sleep deprivation, emotional scars or trauma. Nobody “bounces back”.
‘Secondly, stop placing this woman’s worth on her f*****g appearance! What, is she worth more because she looked like she never even carried twins?
‘Or do you question her as a mother because she doesn’t carry the “appearance” of the fourth trimester? “Like how?” Just wish her a happy birthday without commenting on her body?’

Melissa went on to say that Leigh-Anne’s body ‘does not define her’ and said mother’s shouldn’t feel bad about themselves if they feel like they haven’t ‘bounced back’.
She wrote: ‘Anything you want to say or do or think or feel about a mother- her body doesn’t come into it. Weight gain, weight loss, scars, tiredness, emotional state – this is none of your concern. Her body does not define her. Not as a mother, not as a person.
‘And please remember. We do what we can. And sometimes we don’t even do that much, because it’s exhausting and that’s ok.
