Mel C opens up about 'painful memories' and admits life is a work in progress


Taking a trip down memory lane, Mel C revisits her iconic Sporty Spice style.

This is much to the amusement of her 11-year-old daughter Scarlett.

“My daughter is very proud of me but definitely enjoys making fun of some of my past hairstyles and fashion choices,” Mel jokes to the Mirror.

“With 90’s fashion and sports wear having a moment my iconic Sporty look is a winner – but some other later stuff, not so much!”

The singer also is seen with spiky, blonde cropped hair from her early solo career, as she sings: “When I look in the mirror, I finally like what I see.”

The singer credits last year’s Spice Girls reunion as a “moment of personal growth”.

“Touring with the girls was incredible,” she says.

“It was such a magical experience. Spending time with the girls and becoming much closer again was really special too.

“I loved being Sporty Spice again it helped me really embrace every part of myself.”


The star feels braver as she’s gotten older

Mel experienced some personal reflection while writing new music.

“Making my new album I began to realise a new chapter in my life emerging,” she says.

“I feel braver as I get older and can look back on how everything has made me the person I am today.
