She’s All About That Bass, but also quite partial to a bit of baritone, so Meghan Trainor was perfect to step into Jennifer Hudson’s shoes as a new coach on The Voice .
Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Meghan will join returning coaches Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Olly Murs for the new series, which starts filming next month.
Jennifer has confirmed she is stepping down to concentrate on filming an Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect.
Meghan, 25, who was a judge on US singing contest The Four, said: “It’s a dream come true.
“I can’t wait to sit in the chair with my own button and listen to some incredible new talent.”
Olly, 35, said he was returning with “new energy and a new knee” after having surgery since claiming victory with contestant Molly Hocking last year.
Host Emma Willis, 43, said: “I absolutely adore Jennifer and will massively miss her.
“However, Meghan is a fab choice to add to the coaching line-up.”
The Voice returns to ITV in the New Year.
