Meghan Markle’s friend Roland Mouret has launched a very modern bridal range

The Duchess of Sussex’s two wedding dresses epitomised everything the woman herself is: chic, refined and pared-back.

But there was one dress worn by the 38-year-old Duchess which managed to slip under the radar.

And that was the navy Barwick midi dress she wore on the evening before her wedding, which was designed by her close friend, Roland Mouret (the two have been friends long before her arrival in to the British Royal Family.)

Mouret, who established his eponymous label in 1998, found international recognition in 2005, when he unveiled the piece of clothing which would put his name on the fashion map, the Galaxy Dress.

And now 50-year-old Mouret is creating waves once more with his debut bridal collection.

The range includes jumpsuits, co-ords and wedding suits: everything for a thoroughly modern bride.

Lourdes-born Mouret also has his finger on the buzzer when it comes to sustainability: he has developed an alternative, sustainable hanger to contract the plastic offerings the industry currently relies on.

The BLUE® hanger has been developed alongside Dutch company Arch & Hook and is comprised of ocean debris.

Such is Mouret’s commitment to sustainability that in the coming weeks, he’ll even meet with the CFDA and other industry leaders to advocate for industry-wide change on single-use plastic hangers.

Roland Mouret’s White Collection is available to shop now. Prices start from £785.
