Meghan Markle ‘joins yoga class’ to beat jet lag in New York ahead of US open

Meghan Markle is understood to have flown into New York yesterday to support her close pal Serena Williams in today’s US Open final.

The Duchess of Sussex is said to have left baby son Archie in the care of Harry for her transatlantic trip to support her tennis star friend.

It is thought to be the first time she has returned to New York since her baby shower was held in Manhattan earlier this year.

And according to People, the duchess indulged in one of her favourite wellbeing activities shortly after touching down in New York on Friday, partaking in a yoga class of as many as 60 people in a bid to beat jet lag following the eight-hour flight.

Her studio of choice was Modo Yoga in the West Village, which offers hot yoga classes, the publication reports.

“There were lots of sweet, knowing smiles,” a source told the magazine.

“She has been going to Modo Yoga for many years and tries to do so whenever she is in New York,” they continued. “It was the perfect remedy for jet lag.”

Meghan, whose mother Doria is a yoga teacher, previously documented her love of the practice on her now-closed health and wellness blog, The Tig.

She is an avid Pilates fan, too, and recently revealed that Heartcore’s new Ritual class is one of her favourite London workouts when she guest-edited the September issue of British Vogue.
