Meghan Markle 'fears losing title Duchess of Sussex' after Harry's truth bombs

Meghan Markle is said to be fearful of losing her title as The Duchess of Sussex following Prince Harry’s recent truth bombs.

Although Meghan hasn’t officially been involved in Royal Duties since January 2020,an insider claims Meghan is desperate to keep her Royal title.

The insider claims Meghan believes losing her title could be a ‘PR disaster’ and is keen for Harry to now limit his attacks on the Royal Family.

The 39-year-old former Suits actress who married Prince Harry in 2018 recently wrote children’s book The Bench using her title and continues to use the title in everyday life.

A source close to Meghan told heat magazine: “She’s told Harry that they need to tone down the attacks on the royal family – she’s afraid they’ll take away their royal titles, which would be a PR disaster.

“Right now, she’s inundated with offers, and that’s in part to being a Duchess.”

Harry recently made an appearance in Oprah Winfrey documentary The Me You Can’t See and dropped some ‘truth bombs’ about his close family members in ‘The Firm’.

He said: “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you.

“That doesn’t make sense.”

“Just because you suffered doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer, in fact quite the opposite – if you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, that you can make it right for your kids.”

Harry also said that his family told him to “play the game” when he told them he was struggling with royal life.

In January 2020, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan, who left the UK, would step back from official royal duties and no longer use the titles His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness.

They have however been allowed to continue to use the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A statement released at the time read: “With The Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations.

“While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.

“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”
