Meghan Markle defended in heated TV clash: 'UK can't respect a strong woman with views!'

Ms Msykow said the Duchess of Sussex has been “vilified” because of her strong views. Another of the panellists on Jeremy Vine, Angela Epstein, stated Meghan Markle did not foresee the global impact of her decision in her “wildest Hollywood dreams”. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced last week that they were stepping down as “senior figures” in the royal family.

Ms Epstein said: “I don’t think she predicted by any means the absolute global interest and backlash with this story.

“I don’t think she imagined in her wildest Hollywood dreams that the way it would engage literally every corner of the planet.

“It is entirely unprecedented.

“It is not a crisis like the abdication, the abdication was a crisis.”

Ms Msykow then argued: “Meghan has been vilified, totally vilified!

“It seems a great pity that in this country we haven’t evolved enough to be able to accept a strong woman’s views.”

Earlier today Piers Morgan was involved in a fierce debate with Ayesha Hazarika on ITV Good Morning Britain regarding Meghan Markle’s behaviour as a royal.

Ms Hazarika said: “Hang on let’s back up a bit, your point about what she did in her previous life.

“Piers we have all done stuff in a previous life, I’m sure you have had relationships that have broken down.

Mr Morgan responded: “It’s not just that, all the stuff that has come out about her background I found given what she did to me unnervingly similar and a really disturbing pattern emerged.

“Then you add all the hypocrisy that was going on, then you add the secrecy over the birth of their child which no royal had ever done before.

“Then you add the echo warrior preaching about carbon footprints and catching celebrity private jets.

“Then you add not allowing people to take pictures of her at Wimbledon.

“I know you find it exasperating but actually when the taxpayers are paying for these people they have a duty to behave in a certain way.”
