Megan Fox debuted a micro-fringe at the Met Gala, and now we want one

After accompanying her bedazzled boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly to the VMAs on Sunday night, Megan Fox took the red carpet solo at the Met Gala 2021 — with a brand-new hairstyle to boot.

For fashion’s biggest night, she tried out a fun Bettie Page-esque micro-fringe for the first time. I believe it was Y2K the last time I saw her with a fringe, now that I think about it. Instead of fully committing to the retro look, hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons clipped on a faux hairpiece for the special occasion to achieve the short, blunt fringe. He also reached for ultra-long extensions to create a chunky, cord-wrapped braid that ran past Megan’s waist for an unexpected Lara Croft: Tomb Raider twist.

Megan’s striking hairstyle topped a timeless makeup look. Makeup artist Ash K Holm kept the Bettie Page vibes flowing with fluttery lashes and bold brows. She also painted the actor’s lips with a crisp crimson hue, defining her cupid’s bow while doing so. The lip colour perfectly matched Megan’s gorgeous sequinned gown, which just so happened to give us a peek at her back tattoos.

And for nails, Megan got an almond-shaped manicure lacquered with a pale pink polish. During a red carpet interview, she shared she was embracing her divine feminine with this look, and we’re living for that sentiment.

Altogether, Megan Fox surely left us stunned with her Met Gala 2021 look. We can’t wait to see if she’ll start incorporating the micro-fringe into more of her hairstyles.
