Megan Barton Hanson has revealed she always tells her
partners what she wants in the bedroom, because faking it isn’t helping anyone.

The former Love Island star, who is now Ann Summers’
Director of Pleasure Positivity, revealed that learning about the ‘orgasm gap’
between men and women shocked her.

Research has shown that women can miss out on around 1225
orgasms over the course of their lifetime, simply by being too embarrassed to
talk about what they want in the bedroom.

Megan told Metro.co.uk: ‘We need to normalise speaking about sex and loving our bodies, it’s not just for the blokes.

‘When I found out about the orgasm gap between men and women
I was so shocked, the number is unbelievable.

‘They told me women can miss up to 1225 orgasms over their
life, and I was like “what the hell?!”

‘Because where I have been so open about my past, I’ve never
faked an orgasm because I am very selfish and I would never fake it, so it just
blew my mind that there’s women out there too shy or too embarrassed to say
anything.

‘I hope to get it in people’s faces and make men step their
game up because that is a lot of missing out for women.’

Megan was part of a panel brought together by Ann Summers to
discuss female sexual empowerment ahead of International Women’s Day, and she
admitted she loves being able to help others to be more confident in the
bedroom.

She explained: ‘Things like this is really what I live for,
it makes me so happy and you can tell the atmosphere in the room that everybody’s
so uplifted and empowered.’

Megan has always been an advocate for sex-positivity, and revealed her past career as a stripper helped her get over her confidence issues.

She explained: ‘It literally built me and made me who I am. I
was so introverted at school I used to bunk off for drama class, I would hate
any public speaking. Even reading out loud, I’m dyslexic so I would be like,
“Oh my goodness, I’m gonna skip that period”.

‘And then to come out and do stripping, I just thought if I
can do this, I can do anything.’
