The Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards has returned for its 24th edition. In a star-studded London ceremony, hosted by Specsavers ambassador Oti Mabuse alongside Rylan Clark-Neal, sparkly spectacle gongs were presented to the proudest and most stylish spectacle wearers in the UK.

The search began earlier this year in April. Oti opened the competition, telling entrants to post selfies to social media explaining what their glasses meant to them. For every valid entry, Specsavers donated £1 to anti-bullying charity Kidscape – and more than £100,000 was raised as a result. While many entries were received, only eight finalists were shortlisted, each winning an individual award. But there could only be one main winner – the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year, voted for by a panel of judges – and that accolade was awarded to t-shirt designer Katarzyna Ring.

We catch up with Katarzyna and the seven other finalists to talk glasses, style and Specsavers awards…
