Meet the latest Parisian handbag brand loved by fashion girls all over the world

They’re one of the best-selling accessories, but when it comes to buying a new bag, we’re all too often thrown by the price.

Other than bargain high-street pieces, for a long time there was little in the way of a handbag you could buy yourself as a real treat without having to remortgage your home.

Thankfully, the rise of the mid-price bag (between around £200-500) is here, and there are now seemingly endless incarnations to both lust after and also – crucially – afford.

One of the most popular brands amongst the fashion set in this arena is Elleme (pronounced ‘ell-em’), a little-known French label whose classic, instantly-recognisable bags have been splashed all over the chicest Instagram accounts this year.

Varying in price from £253-£443, they’ve hit the nail on the head when it comes to creating a desirable-but-accessible label.

The brand’s name, which was derived from the French for ‘She Loves’ – ‘Elle aime’ – perfectly captures the feeling of Elleme’s head-over-heels fan base.

From the shearling teddy ‘Madeline’ bag to the leather ‘Baozi’, puffer ‘Raisin’ and timeless ‘Baguette’, the label has kept its vision and aesthetic streamlined and clear, while welcoming different shapes and degrees of formality to suit all manner of occasion.

The even better news? In an exciting turn of events, Elleme is launching a shoe line in February which – judging by our preview sneak peeks – will be just as sought-after as their bags.

See you in the queue…
