SINGER and member of pop group Brotherhood of Man, Martin Lee, has died aged 77.
The band who old over 15 million records announced the death the band member Martin Lee on Facebook.
Who is Sandra Lee?
Sandra Stevens is an English singer and member of pop group Brotherhood of man.
Sandra was a bandmate and the wife of Martin Lee who’s death was announced on Tuesday October 1, 2024.
Born on November 23, 1949 Sandra grew up in Leeds, Yorkshire.
She first started her singing career in the 1960s when she joined the club band, The Track.

Based in Manchester, the band played local clubs, performing pop hits of the day such as “Loca-motion” and the “Da doo ron-ron.”
In 1967, Sandra was working as a shorthand typist when she decided to leave the group to take on new challenges.
By 1973, Sandra began performing as the resident singer at the Wakefield Theatre, when she was noticed by band manager, Tony Hiller who was hoping to find a new singer to join the Brotherhood of Man.
At that time the group were performing with band members Martin Lee, Nicky Stevens and Lee Sheridan, as a trio.
In 1973 Brotherhood of Man became a complete four-piece band, with Sandra sharing lead vocals.
Soon after she joined the Brotherhood of Man, Sandra sparked up a relationship with Martin.
Martin and Sandra were living together by the time of their Eurovision win with their song, “Save Your Kisses For me,” in 1976.
The song made it to No.1 in the UK, as well as many other countries and this was followed by two more UK chart toppers.
Sandra married Martin in August 1979, and the famous couple lived in Surrey.
Martin Lee’s death
The band announced the news of her husband’s death in a post shared on Facebook, which read: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our great friend and colleague Brotherhood of Man’s Martin Lee who slipped peacefully away on the evening of Sunday 29th September 2024 from heart failure after a short illness.
“Martin was 77,” the statement read.
“Martin sang lead vocals on the 1976 Eurovision Winner, Save your kisses for me, which was number 1 in 31 countries and the Guinness book biggest selling Eurovision single of all time plus the biggest winner by percentage of vote.”
It continued: “He will be sadly missed by his fellow band members Nicky Stevens, Lee Sheriden and especially Sandra Stevens to whom he had been married for 45 happy years.
“Over the past 50 years the four of us have toured the world together in harmony and have so many happy memories but now we are in total shock and cannot imagine a world without Martin Lee. R.I.P,” the band said.
Prior to joining Brotherhood Of Man, Lee had already released a solo single called “Cry Jose,” and had also played in the Johnny Howard Band.
Lee was born Martin Barnes, on November 26, 1946, in Purley, London, but had spent five years of his youth living in Australia.

The band has released 16 studio albums and sold over 15 million records.
They have four Top 20 albums and three No.1 singles.
Some of the band’s hits included Oh Boy and Kiss Me Kiss Your Baby.
Sandra recorded lead vocals for many of their bands biggest hits, performing live with her husband and the other band members through the decades.
Brotherhood of Man retired from touring in October 20, 2020 but remain active as a performing band.
