McFly rerecord their classic hit All About You in support of the NHS

McFly‘s Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter have virtually reunited to rerecord All About You in support of the NHS.

The British pop band revealed that they had rerecorded the hit song on The One Show on Thursday, before sharing a brief clip of them singing and playing their instruments at their respective homes on social media.

The video also features cameos from Fletcher’s kids, Buzz, Buddy and Max, Jones’s son Cooper, as well as Judd’s two children and wife Izzy, who plays the violin on the track – and Poynter’s chickens, of course.

The new version of the song, which was originally released as the official charity single for Comic Relief in 2005, will help raise money for the National Health Service.

Before the music kicks in, Jones, 34, explains: “While we’re going through one of the most challenging times we will ever experience, we know that there are some incredible people out there risking their lives every day.”

Danny’s wife Georgia and son Cooper also featured in the adorable clip

Judd, also 34, then says: “Everyone in the NHS – all the carers, all the keyworkers – who are still working to keep this country running, to keep us safe, and to keep us alive. We owe you so much right now.”

Poynter, 32, adds: “Doctors, nurses, carers, all the emergency services, volunteers, and there are so many more keyworkers,” before Fletcher, 34, concludes: “We wanted to say ‘thanks’ the only way that we know how: through music.”

The boy band, who have been on a musical hiatus since 2016, announced back in September last year that they were reforming to for a series of arena gigs – and finally release new tracks. However, due to the coronavirus crisis, they were forced to postpone the concerts until later this year.

Along with the full clip, which was uploaded to YouTube, the band shared a link to the Virgin Money Giving page for the NHS Charities Together Campaign, which has so far received over £27 million. You can donate to the cause here.
