Maya Jama is making the most of her time indoors as the coronavirus outbreak continues.
Following videos from Italy of people in self-isolation on blocks of flats singing to each other to pass the time, the TV presenter had a go herself.
Unfortunately her vocals didn’t seem to go down well with someone living in one of the blocks opposite.
In a brilliant clip shared to Twitter, Maya is seen wrapped up in a fluffy coat and brandishing a large glass of red wine as she belts out I Still Believe by Brenda K Starr.
The presenter joked: ‘Tried to lighten the quarantine mood n have a sing song but the neighbours aren’t on it.’
She puts her all into the performance, even if the lyrics ended up getting a bit scrambled part way through.
One person opposite ignores the encouragement to sing along and doesn’t come out onto the balcony. Maybe Maya should have picked a more popular song?
Videos of Italians singing to each other across balconies have gone viral as the country is in coronavirus lockdown.
Despite streets being empty of people as they hunker down indoors, videos posted to social media show them filled with music as neighbours broke into song.
One resident posted a clip featuring the voices of men and women singing Il Canto della Verbena, The Song of Verbena, from above dimly lit streets in Siena.
Meanwhile in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that schools would be closed from Friday until further notice as the country attempts to slow the spread of the virus.
