Mauricio Pochettino explains what he said to Tottenham players after Bayern Munich defeat

Mauricio Pochettino admits he said nothing in the dressing room after Tottenham were beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich.

Tottenham were hammered by the Germans with former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry scoring four of the seven goals.

It was humiliation for Pochettino, who had already admitted things were difficult this season at Tottenham, and it will be a tall order for him to come back from this.

Tottenham actually took the lead in the game, and they were only 2-1 down at half time, but Gnabry scored his four goals between the 53rd and 88th minute to destroy the north Londoners.

And after Pochettino admitted he was struggling for words.

“It’s difficult to talk now,” he said. “I said nothing. We have to stay altogether

“But you can imagine we cannot talk now. It’s a situation we have to be calm first, after the we will talk tomorrow. but not today.

“We feelings aren’t so good. Very disappointed. But the moment now is to be calm and not make a mistake after a result like today.

“It’s important to stay calm we are not going to fix anything by shouting, when the emotion is on the skin.”

Son Heung-Min put Tottenham ahead after 12 minutes before Joshua Kimmich levelled things three minutes later.

Robert Lewandowski put Bayern ahead just before half time before Gnabry sprang to life with four goals in 35 minutes.

Lewandowski scored the sixth of the night but Gnarly’s final goal on a miserable night for Tottenham.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Pochettino now has big problems.

“It’s a totally embarrassing night for Tottenham,” he said on Sky Sports Soccer Special.

“Pochettino has got big problems. There’s clearly something amiss. They look disjointed and disgruntled. When they went two or three goals down, there was no fight.

“Tottenham were appalling. It’s unacceptable. They capitulated. They had no leaders on the pitch. They had no spine, they had no fight. It was a very, very worrying display.”
