Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor basically broke the internet – or at least Love Island Twitter – when they confirmed last night that they are an item.
And the cuteness just kept on coming, as Maura revealed she’d been ‘spoiled’ by her beau on her 30th birthday.
The Irish reality star celebrates her milestone birthday today, and showed followers a Cartier bag containing a mystery present from Chris, also 30.
Maura posted a story showing a fancy chocolate dessert reading ‘Happy birthday’, placed in front of a trademark Cartier bag and wrote: ‘OK he’s spoiled me @christophertaylorofficial.’
She also showed her hotel room, where rose petals had been strewn on the bed and chocolate-dipped strawberries, gin and tonic and photos of her and Chris had been laid out on a table.
The Dancing On Ice star also shared a birthday message from Lucie Donlan, who wrote: ‘So glad to see you smashing life, happy & also… loved up.’
Chris has yet to post a birthday tribute to his girlfriend, but after their relationship confirmation post, we’re expecting big things.
The Love Island 2019 stars shared the same picture to Instagram, showing them leaning in for a kiss and smiling on a rooftop.
Maura wrote: ‘He’s mine’, while Chris sweetly captioned his pic: ‘Turns out I fell in love with my best mate.’
The posts were inundated with comments from their Love Island co-stars, with Danny Williams writing: ‘Feel like a proud dad who’s just watched his lad score a screamer for his footy team. Get in there son.’
It appears that their relationship wasn’t such a secret amongst the gang, as Molly Mae Hague wrote: ‘FINALLY’, Tommy Fury commented: ‘About time’ and Michael Griffiths wrote: ‘Awww you guys it’s hard keeping secrets.’
There have long been rumours about the reality stars’ relationship, particularly after Chris almost kissed Maura for the ‘kiss your best friend’ TikTok challenge.
The pair met on the 2019 series of Love Island, with Chris becoming a late arrival on day 37.
At the beginning of his journey, Chris was actually coupled up with Maura, but the following week, Chris coupled up with Harley Brash while Maura reached the final with Curtis Pritchard.
Chris and Harley split just two weeks after the show ended after revealing they didn’t have ‘enough quality time for each other’.
Meanwhile, Maura and Curtis were together for seven months before they parted ways, with Maura suggesting the dancer cheated on her – allegations Curtis denied.
