Matt Damon looked like a man on a mission as he left his best pal Ben Affleck’s house armed with what appeared to be a large movie script.

The Good Will Hunting actor was spotted emerging from Ben’s home in Brentwood, Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon. Perhaps the childhood friends were mixing business with pleasure while catching up over the Thanksgiving holidays, as Matt was seen carrying a large stack of papers.

It appeared to be movie scripts which would make sense as the pair are set to co-star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming movie The Last Duel. However, Matt is also producing a new crime thriller, Witness For The Prosecution, which stars Ben in the lead role.

Few details are known about the movie, but it will focus on an esteemed lawyer who must defend a man in what will become the most dramatic trial of his career.

So no doubt the Hollywood stars had plenty to sink their teeth into.

Perhaps Matt, 49, was also acting as a shoulder of support for Ben, 47, who was pictured in the midst of a tense exchange with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner the previous day.

The formerly married couple, who split in 2015, had reportedly spent Thanksgiving Day as a family with their three children Violet, 14, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, seven.

A source told People: ‘They all celebrated Thanksgiving together. It’s very important for both Jennifer and Ben that they celebrate all the holidays together as a family.’

But the following day, the pair were seen having an argument while standing outside Jennifer’s house.

Jennifer was then snapped driving Ben in his Range Rover to a Starbucks where they quickly stopped off for refreshments, before reportedly driving him to a ‘remote hotel’.

Matt was seen visiting Ben twice over the weekend and recently spoke of his pal’s sobriety, after the Batman star’s relapse while partying over Halloween in October.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Matt said: ‘We’ve been working together on a screenplay [for The Last Duel]. He’s doing great.’

A source had told Metro.co.uk at the time of Ben’s relapse: ‘He continues to contend with this disease and is doing so very publicly.

‘While he works very hard at this, every day is a new battle. Sobriety is not something that just happens and every day is a new battle.’
