Matt Baker: ‘All my own teeth’ Star aims surprising jibe at Strictly pro Anton Du Beke

Matt Baker, 41, reminded fans about his 2010 stint on Strictly Come Dancing after watching Emma Barton, 42, and Anton Du Beke, 53, perform a Salsa to Soul Bossa Nova by Quincy Jones from the film Austin Powers. The Countryfile host shared an incredible throwback clip of himself dancing the Jive to the exact same song during Movie Week from series eight with his 14,000 followers. Matt could be seen showing off his acrobatic moves on the dance floor while donning the secret agent’s signature costume and glasses from the movie. However, The One Show favourite couldn’t resist aiming an unexpected jibe at Strictly pro Anton after reflecting on his own Austin Powers themed performance.

He captioned the video: “@bbcstrictly Memories of Movie Week.”

Making a cheeky joke about the King of Ballroom’s appearance, he added: “#allmyownteeth #strictly.”

Matt was of course referring to the particularly awkward moment when Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood presumed Anton was wearing fake teeth to suit the character he was portraying during last night’s show.

Craig then proceeded to mock the dancer’s gnashers, telling him: “I was slightly distracted by the wig and the fake teeth you have in.”

Unfortunately for the judge, Anton was quick to correct him and replied: “They’re not fake by the way, they’re all my own, dear.”

Craig seemed uncharacteristically embarrassed as he exclaimed: “They’re not fake? Oh, God. Really?”

Bruno Tonioli then shouted across the panel: “They’re his real teeth.”

Anton’s partner Emma also whispered: “Slightly embarrassing.”

Craig went on to apologise for his blunder and explained: “Sorry. It’s because of the wig and the glasses and everything.”

In spite of the confusion over Anton’s pearly whites, the couple received an impressive score of 27 out of a possible 40 for their Salsa.

Matt, who danced with former Strictly pro Aliona Vilani, 35, on the show, performed his Austin Powers routine on Week 10 of the competition and scored 35 points from the judges.
