21-year-old actor Mateus Ward may look very familiar to some of you, despite still appearing to be just a wee bairn in our ancient eyes. He’s been in show business for over a decade now, appearing in Criminal Minds and Parenthood as a child, and then snagging bigger roles as he grew up in the likes of Weeds, Hostages, Murder in the First and Lab Rats. More recently, he led the cast of C.O.R.N., a low budget horror movie which is now in post-production. The film has the tagline “A Field Of Screams”. No reason to mention that at all, really, it just tickled us.
Back when Marvel was casting Spider-Man for his first shield-snatching appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Ward was also rumored to be in the running for the role of Peter Parker, which, if accurate, he, y’know, obviously lost out on to Tom Holland. Last time we checked, Holland was doing pretty well for himself, but there don’t appear to be any hard feelings on Ward’s side – he recently posted a video on TikTok of his incredible Avengers impressions, including one of Holland.
Ward has also learned to mimic Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. It’s just a delight.
