Mass Effect takes UK number one from Resident Evil – Games charts 15 May

The remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy is the new UK number one, with Subnautica: Below Zero also charting surprisingly highly.

Fans have been waiting a long time for Mass Effect Legendary Edition and its sales so far reflect that, as it entered straight in at number one in the UK retail charts (and broke BioWare’s player record on Steam).

The remaster compilation sold half of what Resident Evil Village managed on its debut though, with 68% of sales being for the PlayStation 4 version – despite the franchise originally being more closely associated with the Xbox.

Indie game Subnautica: Below Zero also had an impressive debut at number five, while Spider-Man: Miles Morales once again acted as an indicator of PlayStation 5 hardware availability, with last week’s release of new stock seeing sales of the game soar.
