Mass Effect remaster reveal is looking like it’ll be this Saturday

N7 Day this year could be the most important for a long while as almost the entire Mass Effect voice cast reassemble.

The ongoing mystery of why EA won’t announce the Mass Effect remaster trilogy, even though it’s been leaked more times than any game in recent history, may finally be solved during this year’s N7 Day.

N7 Day (November 7) is when developer BioWare usually celebrate the series but it’s passed almost without comment the last few years. However, this Saturday is set to be different.

A special Mass Effect online panel has been scheduled, featuring almost the entire original voice cast, including FemShep herself Jennifer Hale, Mark Meer (MaleShep), Steve Blum (Grunt), Kimberly Brooks (Ashley Williams), Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko), Courtenay Taylor (Jack), Alix Wilton Regan (Samantha Traynor), William Salyers (Mordin Solus), D.C. Douglas (Legion), and Ali Hillis (Liara T’Soni).

Also present will be BioWare developers Karin and Patrick Weekes, with the event set to kick off at 7pm GMT.

Officially there’s no explanation for what all this is in aid of, other than just celebrating Mass Effect, but not only is it likely to be when the remaster is announced but you also have to wonder whether maybe some of these actors have been recording new lines.

The remasters were most recently leaked via a Korean age rating listing, but it’s also been on retailer websites, been pre-ordered by someone at GAME, and teased by BioWare themselves.

Although perhaps the most tangible evidence of its existence is a major new artbook based on the trilogy, which is due out in March.

Whether that’s when the remasters will also be released remains to be seen, but hopefully we’ll find out on Saturday.
