Mason Mount makes Hakim Ziyech claim after previous tussle with Chelsea new boy

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount says he can’t wait to play alongside Hakim Ziyech after seeing the player’s quality first-hand in the Eredivisie.

The Blues announced that they had reached an agreement to sign the Ajax star in February for a fee of €40m (£35m), and he will join up with the team before next season.

Mount spent the 2017-2018 campaign on loan with Vitesse, and played against Ziyech in the process.

And during a Combat Corona FIFA tournament for charity Mount said he was looking forward to linking up with the Moroccan international.

Mount responded to a question about his future teammate by saying: “So two years ago I was in Holland on loan so I knew a bit about him then and obviously how good of a player he is.

This season he has also impressed, scoring six goals and creating 12 assists in the Eredivisie, while he also set up two goals in Ajax’s dramatic 4-4 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League in November.
