Mary Lynn Rajskub of TV's 24 is 'divorcing' her husband of 10 years


Mary Lynn Rajskub is divorcing her husband of 10 years, Matthew Rolph, it was revealed on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old comedienne, best known for her starring role opposite Kiefer Sutherland on the hit TV series 24, filed papers in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. Together the actress and the actor-turned-personal trainer have one child, 11-year-old son Valentine Anthony.

Mary and Matthew were last seen at a red carpet event when they attended the premiere of Night School in September 2018 in Los Angeles.

They wed in 2009 at at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in front of 20 guests while an Elvis song played in the background. The reception was at Koi Las Vegas.  

‘We didn’t know that getting married at a casino in Vegas with Elvis could be so romantic,’ Rajskub told People at the time.

‘Our wedding was beautiful, spontaneous and intimate.’ 

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-stars and real-life husband and wife Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney were among the guests.

Mary is best known for playing Chloe O’Brian on eight seasons of 24.

Earlier this year she said she would return to the show if it was rebooted, but she did not want to play the same character.

And she has also starred as Gail the Snail on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The star has also been in several films including Little Miss Sunshine and Safety Not Guaranteed. 

Mary has also been on the shows How to Be a Gentleman, 2 Broke Girls, Californication, The Girlfriend Experience, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Now Apocalypse.

Her next movies are Dinner in America with Lea Thompson, Too Late with Fred Armisen and Mayfield’s Game with Mira Sorvino.

In March she said that she would no longer audition.

‘Hey ! I’m an actor. The audition process has finally broken me. I’m done. Goodbye, Yours Truly, Mary Lynn,’ Rajskub said on Twitter.

She added, ‘I don’t know if I’ll get to be an actor for a living again… but I DO know I’m done auditioning. Thanks for listening Twitter, you’re always there,’ she added.

The star didn’t say if there was a specific audition that lead her to be ‘done’ with auditioning, but she did respond to a number of fans who reached out.

One fan who said, ‘Ah come on you can do it,’ which led Rajskub to respond, ‘I can….. but will I? No.’

She added in another tweet, ‘The day when you say “I’m better than this.”‘

Another fan said, ‘Rejection sucks but you’re a great actor. Please don’t give up!,’ which led Rajskub to respond, ‘What I’m “giving up” is a pile of s**t. What I’m gaining is authentic.

‘Don’t think I haven’t cried three different times today for various reasons,’ she added in another tweet.

‘One of them the simple sadness letting go of something I loved and that no longer works for me,’ she continued.

‘You tube here I come,’ she added in another tweet, along with, ‘omg I kill me.’

Rajskub, who is also a writer and comedian, adding that, ‘Writing…. I fear you’re a crueler b***h than acting.

‘Mind you: I still love all the arts I’m involved in, just not this one aspect of the biz that worked for me for many years. I’ll be doing plays in the backyard. #staightedge #actor #artist #writer #comedian,’ she added.
