Marvel teases major character death in issue set to ‘shape the future of comics’

Fans of Marvel are well aware that with every victory comes some heartache.

Case in point, the entire plot of Avengers: Endgame.

And over in the comic books, things aren’t much different.

In a teaser for Incoming!, set for release in December, a major death in the Marvel Universe has been revealed.

A teaser image for the upcoming comic shows Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four and Jane Foster standing in a morgue around a body under a white sheet.

It is unclear if a hero or someone close to those in the Marvel Universe is under the sheet, but no doubt it will have major consequences.

The poster says: ‘A mysterious murder… Can you solve the puzzle before the heroes of the Marvel Universe?’

We’re a tad shook, not gonna lie.

We don’t even know who are the creators of the one-off issue, but at the D23 Expo, Marvel described Incoming! as ‘the comic book one-shot that will shape the future of Marvel Comics into 2020 and beyond’. They added: ‘From a single moment in the pages of the Dark Phoenix Saga to the events of Marvel Comics of today.’

That announcement came with a teaser image showing a silhouette holding a sword, beneath two eyes in a galaxy backdrop – perhaps those of Thanos – with the caption: ‘One will unite them!’

… Yep, we’re still lost.

Incoming! is set for publication on 26 December.
