Martin Roberts: Homes Under The Hammer star makes Strictly Come Dancing line-up revelation

Martin Roberts, 55, said he would “love” to join Strictly Come Dancing 2019, which is returning next month.

The presenter acknowledged that his former Homes Under The Hammer co-host, Lucy Alexander, 48, who quit in 2016, also wants to go on it.

Martin admitted he would want to beat Lucy to compete on the show before her.

In an interview with Express.co.uk, he spilled: “I would love to do Strictly!”

“I bought dinner with Bruno Toniolo, I think I can bend his ear,” he said.

Revealing one major reason why he would want to join the line-up, Martin divulged: “I know Lucy would love to do Strictly but I know if I got on Strictly before she did, it would absolutely do her nut!

“I don’t want to do it for just that reason of course but it would be very funny!!”

Martin added: “She would go absolutely basket, it would be very, very funny.”

The property expert appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2016.

“I think I was told you can’t go on Strictly if you’ve been on I’m A Celebrity,” he went on.

“But it’s been three years, it’s approaching that amount.”

“I thought I would have had a call by now it’s looking unlikely,” Martin laughed.

Elsewhere, Martin admitted he’s unsure whether Lucy will return to Homes Under The Hammer and said she’s “always around”.

Addressing whether she would come back to the property programme, he said: “It’s her decision, the thing is, she’s still on it because the way the show works, we revisit properties.

“So she’s always around.”

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant has no plans on leaving Homes Under The Hammer.

“It just continues and continues,” he said. “Programmes come and programmes go but it seems to carry on being really, really popular.

“I love doing it, long may it continue really.”

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing have now begun revealing this year’s contestants.

On The One Show last night, David James, Chris Ramsey and Emma Barton were announced as the first three to be taking to the dance floor.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One in September.
