Martin Roberts: Homes Under The Hammer host reveals Jeff Goldblum Glastonbury meeting

Martin Roberts, 55, opened up about a surprising celebrity encounter he experienced at Glastonbury Music Festival on Friday. The Homes Under The Hammer host revealed he surprisingly bumped into Hollywood icon Jeff Goldblum, 66, in the craft field area of the site. Teasing his 10,000 Instagram followers with the gossip, which he described in a video post as “incredible”, Martin said: “So a bit of incredible celebrity gossip, “I’m here at Glastonbury, I’m in the craft field area and I’m making a silver bangle thing, it’s what you do on the Wednesdays and Thursdays,

“And who should walk in but Hollywood legend Jeff Goldblum, I’m there making a silver bangle and Jeff Goldblum walks in.”

The BBC favourite then announced that the Jurassic Park actor seemed to recognise him.

He continued: “He sees me and he says, no this is true, ‘Aren’t you that guy? From that TV show?’”

While shaking his head in apparent disbelief, Martin added: “So there you go, who’d have thought?”

Martin’s followers took to the comments section of his post to share their excitement about his anecdote.

One wrote: “Hollywood Homes Under The Hammer next then!”

Another added: “What a pairing! I’d go to Glasto just to witness this!”

A third remarked: “Ha ha brilliant!! As if… I’d be made up forever!”

A fourth replied: “Brilliant! A legend meets a legend!”

Martin’s former co-host Lucy Alexander, 48, also took the opportunity to react to his impressive meeting with Jeff.

She wrote back: “Lols Jeff GB.”(sic)

Last week, the property expert sparked a frenzy amongst fans when he revealed he was one of the first to arrive at Worthy Farm on Wednesday.

Filming himself in front of empty fields, he captioned the video: “It’s 8:35 and I’m already in #GLASTONBURY having got up at ridiculous o’clock. So good to be back.”

Martin said in the clip: “Well it’s about quarter to nine on Wednesday morning, and I am already in… Glastonbury.

“Take a look at this! Pretty quiet at the moment, I got up at crack of sparrows whatever to be here. Managed to avoid the queues and just wandering around.”

He continued: “There’s nobody here yet. This scene behind me will change dramatically over the next five days.

“If you’re here, come and say hello, hope you have a fab Glastonbury. If not, watch it on the tele and I’ll do some reports as I go around.”

Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays at 10am on BBC One.
