Mark Ruffalo updates on the status of Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand at an alarming pace, with numerous movies and television shows planned over the next few years, the futures of some of its most beloved characters are still up in the air.

That’s certainly the case with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.

Considering the finality of Endgame, which saw the death of Iron Man and an elderly Steve Rogers passing Captain America’s shield to Sam Wilson, it would be understandable if the film marked the end of Ruffalo’s time as the Hulk, too.

However, Ruffalo clearly doesn’t have any interest in retiring as the beloved comic-book character just yet, and during his appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert he revealed that he has recently spoken to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about his future.

After originally saying, “I don’t know,” when asked by Colbert if we’ll see the Hulk again, Ruffalo then responded, “I do know that I did give Kevin Feige the Blockbuster Award at the Hollywood Film Awards the other day to a smattering of applause and he did say, ‘Hey, do you think there’s any more story left here?’ and I said ‘I could probably come up with a few storylines,’ and he said ‘Maybe you should come in and we’ll have a talk.'”

The last time we saw Bruce Banner he had turned into Smart Hulk during Avengers: Endgame, which meant he had found the perfect balance between the huge brawn of the Hulk and the intelligence of Banner.

Ruffalo should at the very least feature in She-Hulk, which is expected to hit Disney+ at some point in 2022, and will revolve around Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters.
