Mark Hamill reveals hidden Star Wars Easter Egg for fans

Mark Hamill has treated fans to a Star Wars Easter Egg that uncovers the pseudonym he uses for hidden voiceover roles throughout the franchise.

It was recently revealed that Mark, who is known and loved by fans as Luke Skywalker, had a secret cameo on Disney Plus spinoff The Mandalorian.

He voiced a droid bartender, EV-9D9, in the show’s fifth episode – an appearance that went uncredited and was later unveiled by The Mandalorian’s director and creator Jon Favreau.

Now, Mark has revealed that his voiceovers have appeared all throughout the Star Wars franchise for different characters and his work in those roles goes by the pseudonym William M. Patrick in the movie credits.

Taking to Twitter, the 68-year-old star revealed he has had cameos in all Disney’s Star Wars film and uncovered his hidden credit for his cameos in Rogue One and Solo.

You can find Hamill in the additional voices section under the name William M. Patrick – an ode to his older and younger brothers.

Sharing a screenshot of his pseudonym in the credits for both Rogue One and Solo, Hamill told fans: ‘It was never about billing (L-#RogueOne R-#Solo) or salary. It was for fun & the fans & because I [love] #EasterEggs!

‘I misremembered my pseudonym as “Patrick Williams”-It was actually “William M. Patrick” (for my older & younger brothers) I’m not telling what the M. stands for. #Guess.’

Of course, fans flooded Hamill’s Twitter post with suggestions, including the most obvious one – M is for Mark.

Someone threw out ‘Marshmallow’, another suggested ‘Millenium’.

A few fans said maybe it stood for ‘Master Luke Skywalker’ while one guess was: ‘May the force be with you’.

So far, Hamill hasn’t revealed the mystery behind the initial, just like he hasn’t revealed which characters he had voiced in the Star Wars movies.

One thing he has confirmed, though, is that he won’t be reprising his role as Luke Skywalker – who dies in The Last Jedi – anytime soon.

‘I had a beginning, middle, and end. Those films gave me far more than I ever expected when we started out so it’s never even occurred to me,’ Hamill told Entertainment Weeky.

‘My farewell was in Episode IX and it was bittersweet. I love all those people and I certainly have affection for George [Lucas] and the character he created.

‘I’m full of gratitude for what it has given me and my career but I don’t want to be greedy. There are still so many more stories to tell and so many great actors to tell them, they don’t need me.’
